Digital Airways (DAW) is a French company founded in 1998 by four friends, Franck Lefevre, Cyril Delaroque and two brothers Nicolas and Philippe Silberzahn. DAW started out as a project in an old town house in Argentan in Normandy, France, where the four friends began to anticipate and develop an embedded browser called Wapaka . Wapaka was offering a simple but powerful user interface that allowed access to the Internet from a mobile phone.
