BASIS International Ltd. is the developer and supplier of the BBx family of interpreted programming languages derived from Business BASIC, the newest generation of which is BBj. In 1985, BASIS released BBx (Business BASIC eXtended), their first generation of Business BASIC. The fifth generation product includes PRO/5 for UNIX/Linux and Visual PRO/5 for Microsoft Windows. The sixth generation product, BBj, developed in Java, is available for Microsoft Windows, UNIX/Linux, and Mac OS X.
