Imprivata is an IT security company based in Lexington, Massachusetts. Founded in 2002, Imprivata manufactures and sells the OneSign Platform for securing employee access to desktops, networks and applications. As of 2011, Imprivata has over 1,250 clients and offices in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, and Germany and its 200 value-added reseller partners worldwide. Imprivata draws customers primarily from the healthcare, financial services and government verticals, as well as the energy/utilities, retail and telecommunications industries. Imprivata is privately held with venture funding from Polaris Venture Partners, Highland Capital Partners, General Catalyst Partners and SAP Ventures.
