I have a master's degree in sociology and a doctorate in economics, both from Harvard. In recent years I have been exploring several topics in computer history, but especially the formative childhood experiences of American-born computer hardware pioneers, from J. Presper Eckert to Steve Wozniak. I have had a long piece on Eckert's early years published in the Winter, 1996, Annals and obituary pieces during 2007 on Bill Norris and Jack Kilby.
