Description
My research focii are twofold: the so-called Jacquard loom, and hisoriography. The development of automatic punched-card looms has attracted much hyperbole, and a systematic study is needed to establish the actual stages of development, together with reliable supporting data. Historiography is significant to all historical disciplines, yet it varies distinctly between the history of technology and the history of computing, and yet again when contrasted with French history. These crossovers or lack of them provide thought-provoking challenges for the development of the history of computing.
