Description

Co-inventor of the XML web standard, Bray has been a major contributor to XML and Atom web standards.

Right out of college, Bray joined Digital Equipment Corporation in Toronto as a software specialist. In 1983, he left DEC for Microtel Pacific Research. In 1987, Bray went to the New Oxford English Dictionary project at the University of Waterloo and acted as its manager, also working on SGML.

Throughout the nineties and well into 2000, he continued to work on web markup and standards. As of March 2010, Bray worked for Google, focusing on Android.
