Description

Recognized as a global connector in the Internet Hall of Fame class of 2013, Hu Qiheng led the National Computing and Networking Facility of China, which connected China to the Internet in April 1994. This milestone made China part of the global Internet community and stands as her most enduring contribution to computing history.

Hu also served as vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1987 to 1996, and was a member of both the 8th and 9th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
