RINDA
Description

Databases are indispensable as information sources that are shared by many applications and used for diverse purposes as computer systems progress. For this reason, in 1983 the research laboratories of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (currently NTT) began research and prototype evaluation/testing on database machines designed for faster searching and sorting for relational databases. In 1986, the researchers began prototyping a full-scale practical machine called "RINDA", as part of the development of the DIPS-11/5E Series.
