The iPod touch 1st generation was the first iPod touch released. It did not feature the App store , which made it only have 11 apps. You could not charge it in a computer, you had to have a charger. It was the first iPod to have Wi-Fi and Multi-Touch.It was released September 5, 2007. It had 22 hours of battery life in music, and 5 hours in video. Apple successfully sold 32 million iPod touches by the end of 2009.
