At the beginning of the 2008 school year a french version of the TI - 83 Plus appears: the TI - 83 Plus.fr, whose only difference is the name and the keyboard with French touches.For the beginning of 2013, the TI - 83 Plus.fr knows a new version, most impressive, which provides 1.5 MB memory flash. The processor, meanwhile, is more under-clocked. This new version is actually a real TI - 84 Plus Silver Edition: it is recognized by the other devices as such, and it uses the same OS, TI - OS 2.55MP.
