Joined IBM UK in 1967 at the Customer Test Centre in Basinghall Street. Provided support to early customers who had bought S/360. This was systems, applications and operational support. This included S/360 40, 65 and 195. Then installed early S/370 systems and virtual systems. Took my systems knowledge to the Hursley lab in 1975 when responsibility for CICS was transferred to Hursley. Went into management in 1982 and became CICS Product Manager in early 90s. Later in my career I took my systems and middleware knowledge and became a Systems Availablity Concultant to many large banking customers. Retires in 2007.
