Key contributor to IBM's risk analytics business, Bartlett has served as an IBM Fellow, Chief Technology Officer, and Head of Development for the Risk Analytics division of IBM. His innovative work in moving risk analysis from a batch-oriented to a real-time model that worked on individual stock trading ticks had a revolutionary impact on the industry.
Bartlett joined IBM in 2011 when IBM acquired Algorithmics, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he had worked for thirteen years and held the position of Chief Technology Officer and Head of Development. Prior to that, he had held the roles of Senior Vice President of Applications and Emerging Technologies, Head of Technical Architecture, and Director of Software Research. With the acquisition, he became CTO & Head of Development for Risk Analytics at IBM Canada Ltd.
He is a key contributor to IBM's risk analytics business, applying technical innovation to a deep understanding of risk challenges by clients. Bartlett expanded his scope to explore risk applications in IBM's overall analytics and big data strategies, with implications for a wide range of industries. He has served as Technology Ambassador to Brazil.
Named an IBM Fellow in 2013, the highest honor a scientist, engineer, or programmer at IBM can achieve, Bartlett has been a frequent speaker and panelist at Risk events, and is also an author of three books on Java programming development.
