Description

Designer and builder of the earliest computer in 1941, based on Turing's concepts, Zuse was a German engineer who followed up with a succession of more advanced models through the 1940s and 1950s, including the Z4, a machine for commercial use. Zuse designed, but did not fully implement, the earliest high-level language, which he named Plankalkül.

He developed an early design of computers for process control. Zuse founded his own computer business in 1946.
