Description

Developer of the PAC (Presentation-Abstraction-Control) software architecture model, Coutaz made foundational contributions to human-computer interaction that shaped how interactive user interfaces are designed. Her model became widely influential in the field.

A professor emeritus at Universite Grenoble Alpes, Coutaz co-founded the Engineering Human-Computer Interaction research group at the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Grenoble. Her research spanned software architecture for interactive systems, multi-modal interaction, and ambient intelligence.
