Description

Co-developer of the first Carmen Sandiego educational game, Swanson also founded Girl Tech, a company dedicated to creating products that make technology more interesting and accessible for girls.

Through Girl Tech and her broader work, Swanson developed award-winning curricula, electronic toys, and books encouraging girls to explore technology and invention. Her toy inventions included the Snoop Stopper Keepsake Box, Me-Mail Message Center, Zap N' Lock Journal, and Swap-It Locket.

Her publications extended this mission into print, with titles including Tech Girl's Internet Adventures, Tech Girl's Activity Book, and Girlzine: A Magazine for the Global Girl.
