Motorola InfoTAC is not a mobile phone as such, but an early example of a portable wireless data modem. Has a serial port for connection to a PC. Also functions as a two way pager device. Operated on freq band just below the AMPS band. Cost $1100 new. 800 MHz portable wireless data modem & messenger. Uses RD-LAP protocol. 19.2 kb data rate. Used on Telecom Australia MobileData network.
