Description
The H-8445 was an open reel magnetic tape unit with a recording density of 800BPI in which tape was driven using a vacuum double capstan system. It was shipped in September 1967 as the magnetic tape unit for the HITAC-8000 Series. This unit could perform perfect checking via both vertical and horizontal parity checking, and in the unlikely event of an error, could recover through a cyclic redundancy check.
