The Dell Inspiron 1501 series of laptops were introduced to the market in 2006 with an average retail price starting at $649. The laptop was manufactured to take advantage of integrated wireless technology while providing an alternate experience for multimedia presentations or viewing. The basic laptop included a standard 80 GB hard drive, Windows XP Home Operating System and a new design chassis that weighed 6.4 pounds.
