Cotap, Inc. is a mobile messaging application for the enterprise that was founded in May 2013 by ex-Yammer executives Jim Patterson and Zack Parker.Unlike consumer-focused apps such as Whatsapp and WeChat that require phone numbers, Cotap allows users to find and connect with other users who share their corporate email domain. In May 2013, San Francisco-based Cotap announced it had received $5.5 million in a Series A funding round from Charles River Ventures and Emergence Capital Partners.Cotap received $10M in Series B funding in January 2014, expanding its mission of making every worker a knowledge worker.
